FM27 in-game editor: edit your career while it runs
An in-game editor (sometimes written "ingame editor" or called a real-time or live editor) changes Football Manager 27 data while the game is running. You don't start a new save or load a database. You change the career you are already playing.
What a live editor does
Football Manager keeps the whole game world in memory while you play: every player, staff member and club. A real-time editor reads those records from the running game, shows them in a searchable list and writes your changes back. That is why you can fix a regen's potential, improve your physio or upgrade your youth facilities in the middle of a season.
The alternative is a pre-game database editor, which only affects new careers. If you are 3 seasons into a save, a live editor is the only way to change it without starting over.

Free version and licence
The free download lets you view and search everything, including hidden attributes and CA/PA. That alone is useful for scouting. A licence ($6.99 one-time Early Access price, 2 PCs, 14-day refund) unlocks editing.

FAQ
Is there an in-game editor for FM27?
Yes. Bootroom is a third-party real-time editor that works with Steam FM27 build 27.0.0 on Windows 10/11 64-bit. SEGA has not confirmed a price or date for an official FM27 In-Game Editor DLC as of 30 October 2026.
Do I need to start a new save?
No. A live editor changes your current career while it is running. Back up your save first, and use FM's Save Game after editing to keep the changes.
Why don't my edits show up immediately?
FM caches player screens. The change is applied right away, but FM redraws the screen after you press Continue. After continuing, click Read records in Bootroom before editing again.
Can I edit contracts or positions?
Not with Bootroom at the moment. Positions, preferred foot, contracts, nationality, personality and reputation are not editable.
