How to edit player attributes in FM27
Every Football Manager 27 player has visible attributes on a 1–20 scale, hidden attributes the game never shows you, and a Current and Potential Ability behind them all. Here's how to change them in a career you are already playing.
Which attributes you can edit
- Technical: for example finishing, passing, dribbling, tackling, first touch and set pieces.
- Mental: for example decisions, composure, vision, work rate and determination.
- Physical: for example pace, acceleration, stamina, strength and natural fitness.
- Hidden: consistency, important matches, injury proneness, versatility and dirtiness. See hidden attributes explained.

Not editable in Bootroom: preferred foot, positions, contract, nationality, personality and reputation.
Step by step
- Back up your save.
- Load your career in Steam FM27 (build 27.0.0, Windows 10/11 64-bit).
- Open Bootroom and search for the player by name.
- Click an attribute, type the new value and press Save.
- Press Continue in FM. The change is live at once, but FM redraws the player screen on the next in-game day.
- After continuing, click Read records in Bootroom before you edit again.
- Use FM's Save Game to keep the change.
Attributes vs CA: which to change?
Attributes decide how a player performs on the pitch. CA is the total "budget" of ability, and PA is the ceiling it can grow towards. If you raise attributes a lot without raising CA, the game's development system may pull them back over time. If you raise only CA, the game spreads the extra ability across attributes as the player develops. For an instant, lasting improvement, raise both.
Tips
- Make small changes first and check how the player looks after Continue.
- Fix low consistency or high injury proneness on a key player for a big real effect.
- Staff attributes can be edited too, for example to improve your coaches or physios.

FAQ
Can you edit player attributes in FM27?
Yes. With Bootroom you can edit technical, mental, physical and hidden attributes, plus CA and PA, in your running Steam FM27 save on Windows.
Why does the player screen still show old values?
FM redraws player screens after you press Continue. The edit is already applied, and it shows on the next in-game day.
Can I change a player's position or preferred foot?
No. Positions and preferred foot are not editable in Bootroom.
