How to change CA and PA in FM27
Every player in Football Manager 27 has a Current Ability (CA) and a Potential Ability (PA) on a scale of 1–200. CA is how good the player is today. PA is the ceiling they can grow towards. The game doesn't let you change either one in an existing career, but a live editor can.
Step by step
- Back up your save. Copy your .fm file from
Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2027\games. - Start FM27 (Steam, Windows) and load your career.
- Open Bootroom and search for the player by name.
- Click the Current ability or Potential ability value and type a new number. PA can also use FM's negative ranges, for example -95 for 170–200.
- Press Save in Bootroom, then press Continue in FM. FM redraws player screens on the next day.
- Use FM's Save Game to keep the change in your save file.
Tips
- Raising PA lets a young player develop over time. Raising CA makes them better straight away, and the game spreads the points across attributes as they develop.
- If you want attribute changes to show up right away, edit attributes directly as well. All technical, mental, physical and hidden attributes can be edited.
- Hidden attributes such as consistency and important matches often decide whether a talent makes it.
