FM27 In-Game Editor DLC vs Bootroom

For several years SEGA has sold an official In-Game Editor as paid DLC for Football Manager. If you are deciding between waiting for the FM27 version and using a third-party editor, here is a fair comparison.

The official FM27 In-Game Editor

As of 30 October 2026, SEGA has not confirmed a price or release date for the FM27 In-Game Editor DLC. For reference, FM26's In-Game Editor cost $8.99. The official editor runs inside the game's own interface, is made by Sports Interactive and is supported with game patches. Previous versions have covered areas such as contracts and positions, which Bootroom does not edit. Check the Steam store page for the confirmed FM27 details.

Bootroom

Bootroom is an independent desktop program that edits the running game from a separate window. It is available now in Early Access for Steam FM27 build 27.0.0 on Windows 10/11 64-bit.

Not editable yet: preferred foot, positions, contracts, nationality, personality and reputation.

Which should you choose?

If you want an official tool that lives in the game UI and you are happy to wait, the DLC is a sensible choice once SEGA releases it. If you want to edit your FM27 career now, see hidden attributes for free, or tune finances and facilities, try Bootroom. Nothing stops you using both. Just back up your save before any editing.
