Football Manager 2027 editor: your options right now
Football Manager 2027 (FM27) launched with the usual question: which editor works with it? Here is a factual overview of the options as of 30 October 2026. Release plans change quickly, so check each project's own site for the latest news.
Kinds of FM editors
- Pre-game editor: SI's free editor changes the database before you start a new career. It doesn't touch an existing save.
- Official In-Game Editor (DLC): a paid add-on from SEGA that lets you edit from inside the game. See DLC vs Bootroom.
- Third-party real-time editors: separate programs that edit the running game, built by independent developers. Bootroom is one of them.
Status as of 30 October 2026
- SEGA In-Game Editor DLC for FM27: no price or release date confirmed. For reference, FM26's In-Game Editor was $8.99.
- Bootroom: available now in Early Access for Steam FM27 build 27.0.0 on Windows 10/11 64-bit. Free to view, $6.99 one-time to edit.
- Other third-party editors: check each developer's own site for their FM27 support and pricing.
Bootroom is an independent project and is not affiliated with Sports Interactive, SEGA or any other editor project.
What Bootroom covers
- Players: all technical, mental and physical attributes, plus Current Ability (CA) and Potential Ability (PA).
- Hidden attributes: consistency, important matches, injury proneness, versatility and dirtiness.
- Staff: coaching, scouting and medical attributes and staff ability.
- Clubs: club balance and finances (four stored finance fields), training and youth facilities, junior coaching, youth recruitment and stadium values.
Not editable yet: preferred foot, positions, contracts, nationality, personality and reputation.
How to choose
- Want to look before you pay? Bootroom's free version shows all values, including hidden attributes and CA/PA, so you can check it works on your PC first.
- Need to edit contracts, positions or personality? Bootroom doesn't do that yet, so look at another tool for those fields.
- Playing on Mac, Epic or Game Pass? Bootroom only supports Steam on Windows for now.

Is there an editor for Football Manager 2027?
Yes. Bootroom works with FM27 today (Steam build 27.0.0, Windows 10/11 64-bit), and other third-party editors exist too. As of 30 October 2026, SEGA has not confirmed a price or date for the official In-Game Editor DLC.
Is FM 2027 the same as FM27?
Yes. Football Manager 2027, FM 2027 and FM27 all refer to the same game.
